Bird Tracks In The Snow

You never know where beauty will pop up… After a near record snowfall and a couple of days of just real crappy weather, I came across these little bird tracks in the snow, and I thought they were cool.

Blue Heron On Ashville Bridge Creek

I played tag with this guy for a while, in typical fashion it would continue up the creek, only to have to fly further up the creek as I would eventually catch up. The bird was initially behind part of the tree thinking I couldn’t see it, but that gave me enough time to get the camera out and get the great picture.

The barge graveyard on the North Landing River in Virginia Beach. In this ox bow there is the remains of 30 or so barges, as well as several other newer vessels. Every time I go through here I see things differently, even thought things here change very slowly.

Desert Road Suffolk

This is an interesting old house on Desert road in Suffolk Virginia. It is houses like this that really make me think about what was in the past. This house once was someone’s pride and joy… Now it just sits in the weather rotting away, I always think about when or what was the tuning point for places like this, did all the children find jobs in the city and move away, was it a bad stretch of years and the farmer couldn’t survive, or did they just decide to build that 4,000 square foot home a quarter mile down the road…
