Bird Tracks In The Snow

You never know where beauty will pop up… After a near record snowfall and a couple of days of just real crappy weather, I came across these little bird tracks in the snow, and I thought they were cool.

Blue Heron On Ashville Bridge Creek

I played tag with this guy for a while, in typical fashion it would continue up the creek, only to have to fly further up the creek as I would eventually catch up. The bird was initially behind part of the tree thinking I couldn’t see it, but that gave me enough time to get the camera out and get the great picture.

Bald Eagles On Back Bay

Osprey and Chicks

Osprey and Chicks on the Western branch of the Lynnhaven River, the chicks look like they are close to fledging. I usually am on a kayak when on the water, but today I was fishing, and I don’t normally get this high of an angle.

A Blue Heron at Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge.
These birds are usually a lot more skittish then this, I was a bit surprised that it hung out as I passed by.
