Zion Baptist Church, Cumnor Virginia

No real history here that I could find, I just liked the look of the church, actually the building looks fairly new.

Mattaponi Church, Cumnor Virginia

The Mattaponi Church was originally named the Lower Church, and this is the second building to occupy the site. the current building is believed to have been built somewhere between 1730 and 1755. A fire in 1922 caused considerable damage to the interior, but was restored shortly there after.

The Immanuel Episcopal Church

Located here, near near the King and Queen County court house, the Immanuel Episcopal Church was established in 1884.

Old Church, United Methodist Church, Shanghai Virginia

The Old Church aka the Upper Church, was established in 1655, and the building was built between 1724 and 1729. The Old Church was rebuilt within its walls in 1850 after fire destroyed the original roof and interior

Fredericksburg United Methodist Church

The Presbyterian Church, Fredericksburg

Historic St. Luke’s Church

This is a beautiful Church, on great grounds. Th church was originally founded in 1632, as part of the Church Of England, and is the only existing example of an original Gothic Building in the United States. The church is located here in Smithfield Virginia, and for more information on Historic St. Luke’s go here.

Headstone Union Shiloh Baptist Church

This is the headstone of G. A. Waller, Born March of 1867, died January 26th 1908.

There were only 3 or 4 headstones of this era, in the church cemetery all the others were dated in the 1960′s or later. The three headstones of this era were also very small, and this was the only one that was fully legible.
