Bacon’s Castle
The house was originally built and owned by Arthur Allen in 1665. the house was taken and occupied by Nathaniel Bacon’s men in July of 1676 as part of Bacon’s Rebellion. The rebellion collapsed and the house was returned to Allen upon Bacon’s death for dysentery on October 26th 1676
